Lookout Mountain’s hillside streets and Phoenix pavement that tops 150°F in summer are hard on rubber. Heat speeds up tread wear and dry rot, and tires can crack with good tread still left. That’s why tires make up much of our auto repair in Lookout Mountain, and why we inspect what’s behind the tire every time.
Every Tire Job Starts With an Inspection
Before we mount new tires, we check:
- Wear patterns on the old set, which reveal alignment or suspension problems
- Tie rods, ball joints, shocks and struts
- TPMS sensors and valve stems
Putting new tires on a car that’s out of alignment wastes them. We tell you if anything needs fixing first. Shop our new tires and pair them with a wheel alignment.
What Your Tires Are Telling You
These signs point to different problems:
- Wear on the inside or outside edges: alignment is off, or suspension parts are worn. See shocks & suspension.
- Cracks in the sidewall: dry rot from heat and UV. Replace the tire, even with tread left.
- A TPMS light on the dash: low pressure or a failed sensor. See tire services.
