Genesis is a young brand with a thin service network, and owners in Phoenix frequently find themselves driving further than they would like for routine work. We service the G70, G80, G90, GV70, GV80, GV60 and the earlier Hyundai-badged Genesis and Equus at our shop on North Central.
Underneath the styling, these are well-built cars using powertrains related to Hyundai and Kia units our technicians know with more turbocharging, more electronics and adaptive suspension. The maintenance that matters most is the maintenance that protects turbochargers and adaptive dampers, both of which Phoenix heat works hard.
Models we service: G70, G80, G90, GV70, GV80, GV60 and the earlier Hyundai Genesis and Equus.
Turbocharged engines run hotter oil than naturally aspirated ones, and a twin-turbo 3.3L in an Arizona summer is about as demanding an oil environment as a street car produces. Full synthetic on a shortened interval is not an upsell on a Genesis, it is what protects the turbochargers, which are among the more expensive components on the vehicle.
Interval | What we perform |
30,000 miles | Full synthetic oil and filter, tire rotation, brake inspection, cabin and engine air filters, cooling system pressure test, suspension and ride quality check |
60,000 miles | Transmission fluid service, spark plugs, brake fluid flush, coolant condition check, four-wheel alignment, adaptive damper inspection |
90,000 miles | Full coolant flush, water pump inspection, rear differential and transfer case fluid on AWD, fuel system and injector service, turbocharger inspection, full chassis inspection |
Loss of boost, a whistle that changes character, or a check engine light for boost pressure on G70, G80 and GV80 twin-turbo models. Turbo bearings depend on clean oil, and oil that has broken down in heat leaves deposits in the feed lines. Shortened oil intervals and letting the engine idle briefly after a hard run are both genuinely protective here.
A ride that has turned harsh or floaty, or a suspension warning message. Adaptive dampers are heat-sensitive and expensive, and a failing one produces uneven tire wear that is easily mistaken for an alignment problem. Diagnosing the damper before buying tires is what prevents paying twice.
Rough idle, hesitation and lost fuel economy as mileage accumulates. Direct injection leaves the intake valves unwashed and deposits build. Walnut blasting restores driveability, and on a turbocharged engine it also restores boost response that owners often assume is a turbo problem.
Warning messages for systems that seem unrelated, or features that intermittently stop working. These cars carry a great deal of electronics, and desert heat is hard on modules, connectors and sensors. Proper diagnostic scanning is what separates a targeted repair from replacing modules in sequence.
Genesis models are heavy, powerful and frequently run staggered or performance tires that are expensive to replace. Adaptive suspension faults and alignment drift both produce wear patterns that look like tire defects. We measure all four corners, inspect the suspension, and align in house so a new set is not compromised on day one.

Yes. Routine maintenance by a qualified shop with quality parts does not void factory coverage, and we document everything. It saves most owners a considerable drive as well as money.
Every 5,000 miles on full synthetic. Turbocharged engines run hotter oil, heat degrades it faster here, and turbocharger bearings are the component that pays the price when it is neglected.
Often it is an adaptive damper rather than the tires. We diagnose the suspension first, because replacing tires will not fix a damper and a failing damper will wear the new tires the same way.
